Simple Woman's Daybook...

for Monday, November 3, 2008

Outside my window... it is much lighter.  It's so much more pleasant when I don't have to worry about getting hit by a car on my morning walk.

I am thinking... of all the little things I want to tackle before I fly out tomorrow.

I am thankful for... a really great day at church yesterday.  A wonderful time of worship and one of those teachings that I'm going to chew on all week.

From the school room... lights out.  This week is our fall break.

From the kitchen... all the fixings for chili and cornbread.  Our cold spell is basically over, but I wanted to fix a cozy, family-type dinner before heading out.

I am wearing... standard uniform: plaid flannel shorts and my "I love my Hubby" t, but changing things up a bit with a Barney purple sweatshirt. (Just to clarify:  it's the color of Barney.  It doesn't have his actual face on it.  That would be tacky.)

I am creating... shhh! don't tell the kids, but I'm writing them notes for every day that I'm gone.

I am going... to the GRAND CANYON TOMORROW!!!!!  Insert very uncoordinated, but very enthusiastic happy dance here.

I am reading...  Knowing God - still.  I might be reading this one for a very long time.  I'm also heading out to Barnes and Noble today to pick up a bunch of magazines for the plane ride.

I am hoping... to get my chores done quickly so I can have lots of family time today.

I am also hoping... that I packed correctly for this trip.  I really don't want to freeze.

I am hearing... Doc Brown already building something in the family room.  I'm amazed at how productive he can be so early in the morning.

Around the house... lots of little projects I'd like to clear up so PB doesn't have to deal with them while I'm gone.

One of my favorite things... watching my kids kiss each other goodnight.

A few plans for the rest of the week... did I mention that I'm going to the GRAND CANYON?

Here's a picture I thought of sharing:

Doc Brown and Obi Wan-da are teaching Tigger how to play chess.  Apparently that's not one of the things Tiggers do best.

Visit the simple woman blog if you want to do your own daybook.

I love the picture.
The Grand Canyon: sounds like the children are staying home, what about hubby? Seems like I remember you mentioned this was a trip just for the two of you. I know you'll enjoy this quality time together. It is very important.
