On second thought...

Our family was in overdrive before we left town.  We were physically exhausted and our brains were overloaded.  As sad as it was that Doc Brown didn't feel well, it really was a gift that we were forced to slow down and just chill.

Our natural instinct on vacation is to get out and see it all, but what we've needed is to just sit still.  Yesterday, while PB and the kids took a 3 hour nap, I sat in a rocking chair on the front porch.  I alternated between reading, thinking and praying.  PB has been seriously sleep deprived the past 4 months so he's been in desperate need of some rest.  He's had just that the past 2 days.

So even though our son has just gotten out of bed looking very perky, we're going to take the hint and slow down all week.  Sure, we'll get out and see some stuff, but it won't be everything.  God knew that a slow pace is what we need and we're going to be thankful for it and enjoy it.

Thank you God for giving us what we need before we even know we need it!
